Lady Arabella Rose is a Harlequin Appaloosa Huacaya female with a heavily freckled face, rich dark rose grey coloring, and soft, fine fleece with beautiful brightness. She has given us plenty to appreciate at Elderwood Farms in Tennessee, from her distinctive appearance to the patterned cria she produces. We have been just as pleased with her attentive mothering and milk production!
Arabella is a daughter of Our Man Flint, a blue-ribbon-winning fawn male with a compact, substantial frame, and Alpaca Republic’s Kwanita, an Aussie Rockford daughter who produced spotted offspring on multiple occasions. Through Rockford, Arabella also traces to her maternal great-granddam, Hannahruh, connecting her to a genetic line explored in our Appy Origins research.
Notable Offspring:
• Elderwood’s Boomerang - Harlequin Appaloosa son by Mr. Butterscotch, bringing together Arabella’s Rockford ancestry and his sire’s My Peruvian Zephyrus line.
• Elderwood’s Lady Lyberty - Harlequin Appaloosa daughter by Excelsior’s Patriotic Spirit, continuing Arabella’s maternal line in our herd.
• ELWD’s Pixelated Chaos - Wild Card Harlequin Appaloosa son by Pine Valley’s American Patriot, with striking facial mottling that certainly suits his name!
These offspring represent three different pairings, each adding another patterned alpaca to Arabella’s production record. We love seeing her genetic line continue through Lady Lyberty while her sons bring their own distinctive combinations of color and markings.
For breeders interested in Harlequin Appaloosa genetics with documented production and a connection to the Aussie Rockford line, Arabella’s descendants offer an opportunity to build on that work. Contact us about offspring and opportunities within her genetic line.
