ELWD’s Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong, known here as Missy, combines dramatic Harlequin Appaloosa markings with dense, bright fleece, high-frequency crimp, and a compact build. Bred here at Elderwood Farms in Millington, Tennessee, she was exactly what we hoped for from the Spirit and Calliope pairing. Her own patterned daughters have given us even more reason to be excited about this girl! Missy earned first place in halter at the 2022 A-OK Alpaca Blast Off. Her contribution now extends beyond the show ring, with three patterned daughters continuing her genetic line. Paternal Heritage: Excelsior’s Patriotic Spirit Spirit’s dam, Excelsior’s High Voltage Tazer, is by NWA/Hearsum Paulo and out of Candlelight’s Cookies and Cream, a My Peruvian Zephyrus daughter. His paternal line also traces through Windspun WSA Patriotic Gentleman and Hobby Horse Farm Great Expectations to SA Peruvian Black Epic. Maternal Heritage: Bentwood Alpacas Peruvian Calliope Missy’s champion dam is a daughter of My Peruvian Justice and Dewey Meadows Peruvian Ariel. Through Ariel, Missy traces to Curly Calib and his sire, Peruvian Platinum. Calliope, Missy, and Missy’s daughters represent three generations of patterned females, with Missy establishing her own branch of this maternal line. We retained Missy for the combination of pattern, fleece, and pedigree she brought to our herd, and seeing those spotted daughters arrive has been especially rewarding.
